The Carillon Tower and Plaza

The Carillon Tower is the largest musical instrument in UP Diliman. The first in the country, it is a 130-foot structure that houses bronze bells cast in Holland. Designed by Juan Felipe de Jesus Nakpil, First National Artist for Architecture, the Carillon Tower rings hourly everyday.

The Carillon Tower plaza features a 3-meter wide broad steps, a small entry and a central court. The long rectangular open space that is the central court may serve as site for outdoor performances. The Carillon Tower and Plaza is located between the University Theater and the UP Film Institute along Osmeña Avenue.
