Villamor Hall

Officially named after Ignacio Borbon Villamor, the first Filipino UP President, it has a main theater (University Theater), a recital hall (Aldaba Hall), a rehearsal hall (Aracely B. Gimenez-Olanday Hall) and a rehearsal studio. The University Theater is located along Osmeña Avenue, between the College of Music and UP Film Center.

The University Theater is the venue of choice for University assemblies and official convocations, and for watching gala performances and concerts by local and international artists. A fully air-conditioned theater with a combined capacity of 2,000 in the orchestra, upper orchestra, lower and upper balcony areas, it is one of the biggest performance stages in the country.

Located at the right back wing of Villamor Hall, this recital hall is named in honor of Dalisay J. Aldaba, the first Filipino to sing the role of Cio Cio San in Puccini’s Madame Butterfly at the New York City Opera in the late 1940s. It has a seating capacity of 209, fully air-conditioned, and is an ideal venue for solo to quartet recitals, intimate performance pieces and lectures.

This rehearsal hall measures 17.72m x 12.23m, with a ceiling heigh of 4.75m. It is located at the third level left back wing of Villamor Hall.
